G-Lab understands the distinction, and the Field Men’s Jacket is a classic, simple military-style jacket that oozes style precisely because of all the distractions it ignores. The look is timeless–four pockets on the front (two fleece-lined hand, two chest flap) , epaulet-style shoulder details, and cuffs with oversized buttons–and it belies the Field’s technical chops. The synthetic fabric is laminated to a three-layer waterproof and breathable membrane, which keeps the rain and snow off your back without allowing sweat to build up and making you feel clammy. All the seams are fully taped to keep moisture out of the tiniest gaps, and the fabric is finished with a water-repellent Teflon DWR coating to encourage water to bead up and run off instead of soaking in. For colder days, G-Lab also created a zip-in thermal jacket, which traps heat close to your skin for increased warmth on crisp fall mornings and evenings.
